Getting started

Join a channel. Tap a channel on the Channels tab, enter a 6-character invite code with Join code, or scan a friend’s QR code.
Talk. Hold the big button, speak, and let go to send. In Open Mic just talk; tap to mute.
Change the look. Tap the palette button on the Channels tab any time.

Glasses, earbuds and car audio

Pair your Meta glasses, AirPods or headset in iPhone Settings → Bluetooth first. TalkBeam picks glasses first, then other Bluetooth devices, wired earbuds, car audio, then the iPhone speaker.
Tap the device chip at the top of a channel to see what’s connected or pin a different device.
No sound? Check the volume on the device itself, make sure it isn’t connected to another phone, and try leaving and rejoining the channel.

Background and lock screen

While you’re in a channel, TalkBeam keeps playing the channel with your phone locked or another app open. Leave the channel (the × on the mini player) to stop. If a phone call interrupts, you’ll keep hearing the channel; open TalkBeam once to talk again.

Location and the live map

Location sharing is per channel and off until you turn it on. Only members of that channel see you on its map, while you’re in the channel. Tap You’re on the map · Stop in a channel to stop sharing there. Read more in our privacy policy.

SOS

TalkBeam doesn’t contact emergency services. SOS alerts the people in the channels you choose, with your location. In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) first.

Your account and data

TalkBeam creates your account on first launch; there’s no password to remember.
To delete your account and your data, use Me → Delete account in the app, or email us from the address you use with TalkBeam.
